Yesterday I had a horrible experience trying to purchase a a new digital camera from OnTimeDigital.com that I think needs to be addressed. Some of you may have had a similar experience with this website. And, if so, I would like to hear from you.
A couple of days ago I thought it necessary to purchase a new digital camera before the Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas, and I decided on the Nikon Coolpix S550, advertised on t.v. by Ashton Kutcher. I searched the Internet for the best deal, and found it at OnTimeDigital.com, where they advertise the Nikon Coolpix S550 for $119.00, with a Retail Price of $299.99. I placed an order for the camera and paid additional to upgrade the shipping.
When I did not receive the camera after a couple of days, I called the company to track my order. I was then placed on hold for a ridiculous amount of time before a rude sales associate came to the phone to assist me with my inquiry. I soon discovered that the camera had not even shipped! They informed me that they had planned to call me to ask me which battery I wanted to purchase for the camera, as it did not come with one.
My options for the battery were between a 2-hour battery for $45.00 or a 5-hour battery for $65.00. I questioned the associate several times why the camera did not come equipped with a battery, since every retail store that carries the camera includes a battery with purchase, and they could not give me a reason. And before I could even get another word out, they asked if I would just like to cancel me order! Completely unsolicited!! Apparently, they know they are scamming people.
Needless to say, I found an identical camera at Murphy’s Camera, a Louisville, Kentucky-based camera store, for only a few dollars more. And for that small additional amount paid, I received great customer service and a 2-year warranty backed by the store. I am sorry to say that sometimes, something are better purchased off line.

My experience with On Time Digital is almost identical to yours.
My son saved for months to purchase his digital camera. He had a specific camera in mind and after unsuccessfully searching local stores he went on line to search for it. His father and I both checked over his shoulder concerning his purchase. I gave him by credit card #, he handed me his cash. After several days I received an email asking me to call and confirm the order. It was at this time the battery questions were fired at me and my response to On Time Digital was almost identical to yours. I, too, was spoken to very rudely but was not given the option to cancel the order. I asked that the order be cancelled and did not get a response. I then went through email asking in “writing” that the order be cancelled and that a response to the email would be confirmation. I did not receive a response. I then became very concerned about my credit card# which prompted a trip to the bank to have my credit card account# changed. Needless to say I will be “shouting from the rooftops” my disappointment with On Time Digital.

I had ordered a Dock Printer last week and read your information after I did this. So each day I called when I did not receive a confirmation notice.
Finaly today they tell me printer is on back order and asked me if I wanted to cancel. I told them at the time I ordered this printer was in stock. The what sounded like 1 of a 2 person operation asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I told her yes and that I wanted a confirmation that this was in fact official. I received and e-mail stating my order # had been cancelled. Do you think I need to be concerned about them charging me now that the order has been cancelled?
